Intensification of Photo-Assisted Advanced Oxidation Processes for Water Treatment: A Critical Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
In recent decades, ultraviolet-assisted advanced oxidation processes (UV-AOPs) have been successfully applied to remove a wide range of contaminants from polluted water. Despite this, their extended use on an industrial scale is still far being reality, largely limited by the operational costs that these entail. years, many researchers working increase UV-AOP efficiency and reduce capital operating costs. This work aims review different strategies devoted intensification UV-AOPs. Firstly, optimization parameters, such as catalyst loading, pH, temperature, or oxidant concentration, has reviewed strategy augment photocatalytic reagent consumption and/or treatment time. The also discusses development materials intensify UV-AOPs process, finally, combination integration for pollutants examined.

Potentially harmful disinfection byproducts (DBPs), as a significant challenge in water treatment, are formed when oxidizing disinfectants react with natural organic matters (NOM). Unfortunately, an unwanted side effect is the formation of harmful by-products, such as THMs and HAAs, following the chlorination stage. DBPs cause a variety of diseases like cancer in humans. In this ...
متن کاملReview Paper FORMATION OF HYDROXYL RADICALS FOR WASTE WATER TREATMENT BY PHOTO-CATALYTIC OXIDATION PROCESS
Organic pollution is the term used when large quantities of organic compounds are found in waste water. It originates from domestic sewage, urban run-off; industrial effluents and agriculture wastewater. Water shortage and water quality are the main issues in the global water crisis. As the population increases, there is ever growing demand on water resources. Wastewater with organic pollutants...

Organic compounds, including MTBE, have been treated in drinking water using AOPs at several sites across the United States over the past five years. The largest system (3,000 gpm) is a medium pressure H 2 O 2 /MP-UV system installed in Salt Lake City, Utah to remove up to 10 µg/L PCE from drinking water (Crawford, 1999). Other systems are installed in Canada for the removal of N-nitroso dimeth...
متن کاملUV/ H2O2 Advanced Oxidation Process for Simultaneous Removal of NO and SO2: A Review
This study presents a review on advanced oxidation processes (AOP) for simultaneous removal of NO and SO2. AOP is based on using a strong oxidant such as ozone and H2O2 which is able to generate highly reactive intermediates. The pollutant will be oxidized and removed by these intermediates. In recent years, AOP has been considered as an effective and attractive technology in the field of flue ...
